Who we are
TickrWire is an AI news intelligence service that aggregates, summarises and explains publicly available AI news. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights. For privacy questions, contact us at the email below.
Information we collect
We keep data collection to a minimum:
- Account data: if you register, we store your email address, an optional display name, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Usage data: bookmarks you save, search terms you enter (to show trending topics), and aggregate article view counts.
- Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type) used for security and abuse prevention.
- Preferences: a cookie remembering your light/dark theme, and secure cookies that keep you signed in.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your theme preference. Where advertising is enabled (see below), third-party advertising partners may also set cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break sign-in.
Advertising
We may display advertising to support the service, including:
- Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
- Direct & affiliate placements. Some content may include sponsor banners or affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and act on it, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Sponsored placements are labelled.
For more on how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How we use your data
We use your data to operate the service, keep you signed in, save your bookmarks, surface trending topics, secure the platform, and (where enabled) display advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
Your rights
Depending on your location (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us and we will respond within the timeframe required by law. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your associated data.
Data retention & security
We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. Passwords are hashed; data is stored on secured infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect it.
Children
This service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
